![]() When I went to the C&P exam they only wrote down results of my median nerve as having incomplete paralysis, mild and didn't even address my ulnar nerve. In my research, I've found where 10% ratings have been given separately for incomplete paralysis of the ulnar nerve and for incomplete paralysis of the median nerve. It should identify either ulnar or median nerve or both separately).Ī higher evaluation of 20 percent is not warranted for paralysis of the median nerve unless the evidence shows nerve damage as moderate. ![]() I don't see where it catagorizes "mild incomplete paralysis of the minor extremity. Also, on the rating schedule I see where there are different catagories for mild incomplete paralysis such as for the ulnar and median nerve. *Mild incomplete paralysis of the minor extremity (it's actually my dominant hand of which it states that on my C&P exam results, but, it wouldn't have made a difference, anyway. We have assigned a 10 percent evaluation for your carpal tunnel syndrome - left hand, median and ulnar nerve neuropathy - left hand based on: Service connection for left hand carpal tunnel syndrome, median nerve has been established as directly related to military service.Īn evaluation of 10 percent is assigned from July 16, 2015. I know you are new to these forums, so I thought I would relay that to what the award letter said, "Service connection for left hand carpal tunnel syndrome, median nerve". By the way, VBN rules prohibit and forbid the asking of a particular member to personally answer your questions. Perhaps if they see this post, Cruiser or Philly might be able to elaborate more on this if you still do not understand what I have stated. ![]() I really do not see a reconsideration OR a NOD in this issue. ![]() I am not a VA employee nor a medical professional but I can tell you that you would not receive 2 separate ratings for a disability that is already covered by another rating with the exact same symptoms. Since my median nerve damage outweighed both the ulnar issue and cervical radiculopathy were included in my overall rating. At the least it would the ulnar should have been included with the median, but you are not going to get rated for both with the same exact symptoms. VA cannot rate you for both nerve issues off the same symptoms. Yours is evidently mild in symptoms since you are only rated 10%. Point I am making is they are all nerve damage issues. By VA standards since CTS is not listed, I, like you am rated for damage to the median nerve, but also have ulnar damage and cervical radiculopathy stemming from my neck. I too have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which is moderately severe and I am rated 30% for my right dominant hand, and 20% for my left non-dominant hand. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!! Sincerely, keith9269 Question: Is it possible I should have received a 10% rating for the median nerve problem and 10% rating for my ulnar nerve problem? Or basically, a 20% total rating for my left hand ulnar and median nerve incomplete paralysis? I was thinking of filing either a "reconsideration" or a NOD. Well, I put in a claim last year and in Nov 2015 I received a 10% rating for left hand carpal tunnel syndrome (ulnar and median nerve neuropathy). The doctor also said, I had Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my left wrist. The results showed ulnar and median nerve neuropathy. ![]() Anyway, VA hospital (which is where my Tricare was) ordered nerve conduction tests to be done on my left hand, which is my dominent hand. Also, my whole hand would get numb at night and sometimes during the day when holding something in my left hand. While on active duty orders I started having problems with my left hand, like numbness in my fourth and fifth digit fingers. Or anyone else who could be of assitance. ![]()
